EU AI Act applies to Asian organisations too

Japanese banks serving EU customers, Chinese technology platforms with EU users, Indian software companies with EU clients — all are within scope of the EU AI Act. Transparency obligations apply from August 2026; the high-risk AI deadline (Annex III) was extended to December 2027 by the May 2026 Omnibus, but these obligations still apply to Asian organisations with EU customers.
